Second Jr. Jazz Game

Carter played his second Jr. Jazz game.  His team did much better this time.  They don't keep score, but I think they won by 4 points.  Carter made at least five baskets that I saw, he said he made 14 points, so I might have missed some while getting the girls drinks.  It sure is fun to watch him command the court.

Valentines Day!

Taylor and I gave the kids gift cards to McDonald's for Valentines.  It is just as unhealthy as candy and they certainly didn't need more treats or toys etc.
These are the Valentines the kids gave out.  Aleeya and Serena gave the princess ones at "Neighborhood Preschool," Hello Kitty was Serena's for "Flowerbox," and the Cars with the pencil was what Carter gave out.  They had their names and classmates written on the cards at least a week in advance, since they were excited to give them out.

Taylor and Carter picked out for me; chocolates, Mrs.Field's cookies and flowers.  I gave Taylor socks and a leatherman tool.  The kids also got cards from Grandma Dear with $1.00, cards and treats from Grandpa and Granny Dearden and a card in the mail with $2.00 from Grandma Hoppie.  Grandma Hoppie had also given me wrapped presents for them to open.  I hide the presents and they each got a sample of the paper that was theirs so they could go and find their gift.  She gave them each a new book.

Valentines Day Projects

Aleeya posing with the Valentines projects.  My favorite was the sentences that Carter made at school with candy hearts.  They used the words on the hearts and added other words to make a sentence.   Some of my favorites: "U R Mine" now Macie.  Macie is the girl that Carter likes.  I "love you" a lot "Kiss Me" pleese "My Girl." Three hearts in one sentence.  "You Rock" grill (girl).

Valentine Boxes

These are the Valentine bags Aleeya and Serena made in "Neighborhood Preschool" and the box that Serena made for "Flowerbox" preschool.
Carter spent four hours working on his Ute Valentine Box for his class.  NDPA has a no food policy, so all of the valentines were cards with prizes like pencils, magnets, erasers, stickers etc.

Taylor's Birthday

Taylor got LOTS of presents for his birthday.  He may have not done so well at Christmas, but he scored for his birthday.  Taylor was just called to serve as a YM advisor for the Teachers, so he needed lots of scouting stuff.  James McBride gave me a lots of ideas and showed me which brands and types to buy for frame packs, sleeping bags, water storage etc.
Carter made Taylor many cards and then wrapped them he sure loves his Dad and the Utes.

Serena always loves to help with the present opening.  We had a family dinner with Alan, Anela and Staci.  Carter had "Great to be Eight" that night and I had a ward conference and a New Beginnings and Taylor had two YM meetings, plus church, so it was a busy day.

"Jamie" Preschool

This year the girls call our neighborhood preschool "Jamie" preschool.  I assume this is because they love Jamie and she was the first teacher AND  it is held at her mom's house.  Here the girls are playing during free time.

The lesson this week was about the alphabet and Elizabeth Maycock was the teacher and I was the co-teacher.  She made bread with the initial of their first names for snack.

Each child also received a packet of cards with each letter of the alphabet on it.  This has been great for us to keep in the car and review the letters when we are waiting for Carter to get out of school.
