Aleeya does a make-over

Aleeya got into my purse and took out my lipstick and then went to the basement and gave herself a make-over.  She also got some of it on the rug, thankfully not on the carpet since it will not come out.
The only person happy about this is my Mary Kay representative, because she used all of  the lipstick.

Preschool Orientation

Serena is going to go to an "official" preschool three days a week and then I will still do the neighborhood preschool with her and Aleeya.  We thought Serena could use the extra learning to help her get caught up on her speech.  The school had an orientation to meet the teacher and Serena was very outgoing and social.  There are several girls that she knows in the class: Abigale Tanner, Ashlie Christensen and Ava Tesuscher.  We are going to carpool with Abigale and Ashlie.

The preschool also has a dance school, so Serena is standing by the trophies.  We are not going to add the dance class currently, as sending her to preschool already seems like such a big step (for the mom, not for Serena).

Together in Harmony Music Performance

Serena had a final performance for her Together in Harmon Music Camp.  They sang the songs that they performed in the parade and then new ones that they learned in July and August.  I included this picture because it shows how Serena is ALWAYS moving, even when she is sitting.

The whole group with their teacher.  I was really impressed at how well Serena learned the songs.  Her speech is very clear when she sings and when she performed she stayed very focused on the teacher and did a great job!

Carter playing soccer

Carter is player #3, he shoots and he scores!

All soccer players need cute fans!
 Go Carter! Go!
Carter is much better this year of getting in there and going for the ball.

Little Red Hen Garden

A sampling of the bounteous produce that comes from the Little Red Hen Garden.  We have been working on this garden with seven other families: McBrides (it is land from James' grandparents), Pryors, Montgomerys, Phairs, Richardson, Butz, and Matthews.
I am always amazed at how much food we get each week.

Davis County Fair

 Aleeya looks like a pro!
This is an annual tradition, the fair is the best place to ride a horse-it is free!
We love the games that they have set up and these cars are always a hit.

Serena is watching a dog that drives a car and talks.  He was drawing quite a crowd of children.  He would talk to them and move back and forth.  There were a couple of children that kept jumping on his car and trying to hit him on the head.  The "dog," or the person controlling him, was trying to be really nice and get them to stay off.  I even said be careful we don't want to break it, but they just kept being REALLY annoying.  I will blame pregnancy hormones, but I was VERY irritated and wondered where their parents were and why they didn't stop their crazy kids.  I will note that I realize my children can be very crazy also, but I at least try and redirect or remove them.

Carter starting first grade!

Carter looks awesome and was ready for his first day of first grade. I had a hard time thinking about him being gone from home for so long. I have had many discussions with friends about home schooling and it really scares me to not have him with me all of the time. I am SO THANKFUL that I feel good about the school he is at, North Davis Preparatory Academy. I am able to be involved there and feel like they really have quality education and moral standards. I also love the uniforms and the opportunity to learn a second language, Spanish.
Savannah Fernald, our neighbor, has been in Carter's Kindergarten and First Grade class. It is awesome that so many of our neighbors and ward members also go to NDPA.
The girls asked many times when Carter would be home. It is fun to see how they play differently with each other when he is not there to be in charge.

Raft River Idaho

The children all snuggled in the tent at Raft River, Idaho. Our third year at this fabulous vacation site.
Up and Down all day on these waterslides is the perfect activity for the kids. Mom enjoyed sitting in the shade and reading.
Taylor on the zip-line.
Playing in the mud football field.
Carter was serious about his tackles and enjoyed the results of sliding in the mud.
Serena eating chocolate pudding, is that mud or pudding all over her?

Carter Kindergarten Art

Throughout Carter's Kindergarten year we saved his many art projects. Here they are all displayed and he selected a few that we will save in his memory folder.
